The XIANDAO Fluidized Spray Cooler is applied for production of extra coarse particles from 500 to 2000 microns - also called prills - from a melt.
A XIANDAO spray cooler is very flexible plant for producing melts with a particle size up to 500 micron according to very specific particle size requirements. It is applied for a wide range of products where a fine powder - based on a melt - is in demand.
Atomization is done using either a XIANDAO rotary atomizer, high pressure nozzles or a fountain nozzle:
For fine particles with a mean particle size of 50-150 micron a high speed rotary atomizer or high pressure nozzles, both in co-current mode is applied
For coarse particles of up to 500 microns and melts that solidify slowly a fountain nozzle in a counter-current mode is applied
The cooling media in form of cold air, either directly from the outside or in a closed cycle via an air cooler, is distributed through a special designed air distributor placed at the ceiling of the spray cooling chamber. For products that need extra cooling or those that generate heat due to crystallization, a XIANDAO VIBRO-FLUIDIZER is placed below the spray cooling chamber to provide additional after-cooling. The fines created during the atomization and cooling are carried along with the cooling air through the air exhaust duct of the spray cooler and discharged from bag filter or into the XIANDAO VIBRO-FLUIDIZER.
For extra coarse particles - 500 to 2000 microns - also referred to as prills, the XIANDAO Fluidized Spray Cooler is the optimum solution.
The XIANDAO Test Center is available for making spray cooling tests.
