The XIANDAO XIANDAO rotary atomizer is the key piece of equipment in the spray drying absorption process. The rotary atomizer facilitates the atomization of the absorbent liquid into the flue gas, basically by feeding the absorbent liquid to the atomizer wheel spinning at around 10.000 rpm. The fast rotating wheel slings the liquid outwards and breaks the liquid into an atomized cloud of extraordinary small droplets with an immense surface area.
As a developer of and long time market leader in spray drying technology, XIANDAO Process Engineering has developed a number of rotary atomizers for use in the flue gas cleaning industry. These atomizers, the F-100, F-160, F-350, F-800, and the recently developed F-1000 are modified to withstand the often harsh environment and abrasive absorbent with the use of special stainless steel types and abrasion resistant wheels and wheel inserts.
Basically, the rotary atomizer consists of an upper and a lower part separated by a central supporting plate. The upper part of the atomizer comprises the gearbox with lubrication system and the upper oil sump. A vertical flange motor placed on top of the gear box powers the atomizer. The power is transmitted from the motor to the gearbox input shaft via a flexible coupling.
The lower part, which is exposed to the hot media inside the absorber chamber, consists mainly of the flexible spindle, the spindle bearings, the feed and flush piping, the liquid distributor, and the atomizer wheel.
Atomizer parts and atomizer wheel parts exposed to wear and erosion from the absorbent feed are replaceable and manufactured in ceramics that are resistant to abrasion.
