The XIANDAO Fluidized Spray Dryer, FSD, is an efficient multi-stage dryer with an integrated fluid bed. It combines spray drying and fluid bed technology in one plant, with the same qualities as a multi-stage dryer with external fluid beds but with great space saving.
Drying and agglomeration take place in a single operation, allowing the production of coarse, dustless and free-flowing particles. The particle structure thus obtained is that of a grape. This technology is especially well suited to food applications, including sticky, hygroscopic, aromatic and heat-sensitive products.
The FSD size 0.8 to 12.5 fluidized spray dryers are ideal for small-scale production of coarse, dustless and free-flowing agglomerates. Agglomeration improves the dispersability of the powder and considerably reduces bulk density.

Fluidized Spray Drying process
Feed is sprayed from the atomization nozzle (two-fluid or pressure nozzle) mounted in the ceiling of the drying chamber into hot drying air introduced through the process gas disperser.
The vigorous fluidization of moist powder in the fluid bed, located at the chamber base, plus recycle of fines from the cyclone or bag filter attachment leads to spray drying taking place in a powder-laden atmosphere, resulting in agglomeration. Agglomeration is a result of wet and/or semi-dry particle collision. Control is achieved by adjusting atomization, temperatures and fluidization velocity and by returning dry fine powder to the wet spray.
