The XIANDAO Fluidized Spray Cooler is applied for production of extra coarse particles from 500 to 2000 microns - also called prills - from a melt.
Atomization is done a by low-speed rotary atomizer with a specially designed prilling wheel in a spray cooling chamber of large diameter equipped with an integrated fluid bed in the bottom. Here the cooling media (cold air) is introduced through a perforated plate and the prills are fluidized and simultaneously solidified.
Producing a free flowing product
Fluidization velocity is selected to create sufficient attrition so that fines particles attached to the large particles are removed. The result is a free flowing product. The separated fines - a few kilos per hour - are carried along with the cooling air through the top of the spray cooler and discharged from the cyclone. The main fraction is discharged from the integrated fluid bed via a rotating valve.
The XIANDAO Test Centre is available for making spray cooling testwork.

All plants designed and supplied by XIANDAO Process Engineering will enable the end user to obtain approvals put forward by the China directive.
